This weeks top craft picks from other websites:

Sorry for the lateness of this blog post but I have had a very busy week making jams, soups and jelly's!
  1. From Apartment Therapy is this brilliant light decor. I really want to have a go at this one!
  2. All the crafty blogs are now getting ready for Halloween and I love these! Very imaginative! Have a look over at Craftzine.
  3. Another Apartment Therapy is this brilliant 'back to school' canvas which would liven up any classroom or children's room.
  4. Finally is this chest of draws painted and then decoupaged with birds on it. Usually I don't like this sort of decoupage but I love this and will give it a go next time I need to decorate a piece of furniture! Have a look at Cottage Hill for details.

This weeks top craft picks from other websites:

  1. With Halloween a month away, crafty blogs and websites all over the world are now putting up their home-made costume ideas and this one is brilliant. It combines two of my loves, Lego and Indiana Jones! Find it here at Instructables.
  2. Keeping on the Halloween theme here is a nifty Halloween food idea... A chocolate spider-web cake. Have a look at the how-to guide at i am baker.
  3. I am also loving these pumpkins from one of my new favorite blogs, Glorious Treats.
  4. And finally a non-Halloween idea from the brilliant website Ikea Hackers. This is an inventive way of creating a table...

This weeks top craft picks from other websites:

This weeks top craft picks are:
  1. A quick and easy record clock which looks great on any wall. To find out how to make it look at Polish The Stars Blogspot.
  2. I love love love all of these cakes but especially the Singer cake. I really should make more cakes and have a go at making interesting shape ones... Have a look at Cake Wrecks to view some of their others. You have to love any website which has a Singer sewing machine cake on it!
  3. A lovely Mod Podge suitcase. Such a cute decoupage idea. Look at Skunk Boy Creatures for a how-to.
  4. A frame with 52 weeks worth of Polaroid pictures in it to document the year, a lovely idea from a lovely blog: One Sheepish Girl.
  5. The final pick for today is another frame idea, a very similar idea, but can be used on smaller frames. A great idea from Sweet Peach.

This weeks top craft picks from other websites:

So here are this weeks top craft picks, I haven't done it sooner as I have been busy this week decorating a holiday cottage. So I have learnt that my skills don't lye in laying tiles (even though I can grout) and I have learnt that I don't like building cabinets! Anyway back to crafts to cheer me up, here are this weeks best:
  1. I had promised not to make any more scarfs, as I have too many already, but I really want to give this one a go! PurlBee is such a cute blog and I love this scarf...
  2. I saw this party and just loved it! An Alice in Wonderland themed party, where they have painted the roses red! Even though I'm 22, this is going to be the theme of my next party!
  3. Autumn is here, which I usually love as it is my favourite season so here is a lovely autumn bunting idea, put away the floral summer bunting and welcome in the autumn leaves! Have a look over at Life With Little Ones.
  4. Keeping on the scarf theme, this is a very cute girly jersey scarf. Love it - but I really must stop looking/making scalfs! Have a look at A Cup of Sparkle.
  5. And finally the geek in me is out again today as here is such a cute take on Star Wars. I love it, bright colours and cute characters. Look at Feeling Stitchy for a lovely blog.

This weeks top craft picks from other websites:

Sorry for not doing this on Friday like I always do, but this last week I was away at The Starfish Project, an intensive course for people who stammer. I observed the course and it was amazing but I haven't had time to do the blog, so here I am catching up...
  1. I love this basic quilt, it is made using fat quarters which makes it simple and easy for beginners. The choice of fabrics really make a quilt and I love how these give it a 1930s feel. Have a look how to make it over at Sew4Home
  2. Sadly I could never make this project as was never very good at woodwork at school - I used to get the boys in my class to help me at woodwork and in return I would help them pass cookery. Therefore I am terrible at woodwork, but I love this table... Have a look at Design Sponge to have a go...
  3. This is such a cute light, very girly and vintage. Made from Doily's it is perfect for a clean vintage feel in a room. Have a look at Shannon South's blog for more pictures.
  4. A great way to use up all the old floppy disks that we don't need anymore, geek craft has so many uses for all of these. Have a look at Instructables for details.

This weeks top craft picks from other websites:

1. Martha Stewart has so many different craft ideas and so as I don't watch her show I occasionally look to her website for inspiration. I love these lampshades... cute and fresh and they look relatively cheap to make.2. Another great lampshade idea, cards. I love it but it looks complicated and I don't think my dyslexic brain will be able to cope with working with such a complex idea.
Have a look over at MAKE:

3. My inner geek is amazed and in love with this project. I'm happy to say that over at Crafty Tardis two of loves come together, Crafts and Doctor Who. An amazing Weeping Angels costume:
4. A great how-to on making a laptop bag. Love the easy to follow pictures, so have a go over at Sew, Mama, Sew!
5. And finally a lovely idea of a scrapbook map with different vintage fabrics for the different states: So cute and was made over at My Life and Kids.

Well that's it, my favourite crafty projects for the week...

This weeks top craft picks from other websites:

I like to follow lots of different craft websites, and here are the best ideas I have seen this week:

1. I love this idea for a sewing/craft box from an old book - not sure if I would do it as I am unsure whether I am happy with the idea of destroying books in the name of craft, however this does not destroy any of the text it only takes the cover apart from the book.

On how to make this go to: How About Orange
2. I love to write letters and so I think this is a crafty way of having some nice writing paper which isn't boring. I will certainly give this one a go at some point.

For a quick how to guide go to: Design Sponge
3. Another Design Sponge idea which is brilliant! I have been toying with the idea of creating my own perfume for a while (and it is on my list of crafty things to do). I love how they use an old pocket watch to give the solid perfume a vintage feel.

Have a go at: Design Sponge
4. Sadly I cannot attempt this one before I get a flat/house of my own but I love it! An easy way to get vintage into your bathroom, but you will probably need some DIY skills to do it.
I have only just discovered Poppy Talk but I love it!

Have a look at : Poppy Talk
5. Over at Sew 4 home they have put up a pattern for how to make a travel accessories bag which I would love to have a go at...

Have a go at: Sew 4 Home
